Because enrollment is only the beginning. The Internet Licensing Collective (ILC) operates the collective licensing program; LINC handles the publisher-side work in Asia: readiness, local enrollment, RSL declaration setup, reporting, and ongoing coordination. You keep control of scope and approvals while LINC remains your operating contact.
In most cases, yes. The RSL standard allows a publisher to permit some uses while requiring a license for others. LINC reviews existing commitments first so the proposed ILC participation scope is defined around them, not in conflict with them. Where an existing agreement contains exclusivity or field-of-use restrictions, those are identified before anything is declared.
Yes. ILC enrollment scope is defined by websites and subdomains. Within an enrolled scope, RSL declarations can identify covered paths, pages, feeds, files, datasets, and media assets, and can narrow or prohibit use. LINC records the scope you approve before enrollment.
LINC's service is non-exclusive: nothing is enrolled through LINC without your approval, and you may continue direct deals, marketplace listings, and other licensing routes. Any terms specific to ILC participation are set out in ILC's own agreement, which you review before enrolling.
ILC administers usage, settlement, and payment reporting under its collective licenses. LINC helps publishers review the reporting available for their enrolled sites and understand how reported use connects to royalties.
Royalty administration is performed by ILC under its applicable terms. Payment mechanics for publishers in your market, including any role LINC plays in settlement, are confirmed in writing during onboarding rather than assumed here.
Registering interest is free. Before LINC begins any paid work, the LINC service agreement clearly sets out the scope, fees, and compensation structure. All LINC fees are disclosed and agreed in advance.
Control of the domains you want to enroll, someone who can approve scope on the publisher's behalf, and a list of any existing AI licensing agreements. Technical setup for RSL declarations (robots.txt, RSL XML, or headers) is handled during documentation; you do not need to prepare it before the enquiry.
LINC reviews fit first and follows up before requesting rights, catalog, or commercial information.
Non-exclusive. No commitment at enquiry. You decide every next step.
LINC will review fit and come back within two business days with a readiness review proposal. There is no obligation at this stage.
