An open standard for publishing machine-readable terms, and a collective licensing nonprofit that negotiates and administers licenses on publishers' behalf.
The RSL standard. A machine-readable way to state how AI systems may access and use your content, including permitted uses, licensing requirements, and attribution.
RSL Collective. A collective licensing nonprofit that negotiates with AI companies on behalf of its members, establishes standard licensing terms, tracks usage, and administers pay-per-output royalties.

Keep one regional contact who carries your context into RSL coordination.
Because enrollment is only the beginning. RSL Collective operates the collective licensing framework; LINC handles the publisher-side work in Asia: local enrollment and technical implementation, reporting and ongoing optimization, and regional publisher representation. You keep control of scope and approvals while LINC remains your operating contact.
In most cases, yes. RSL Collective states that content owners "have the right to control who uses their content for AI training and for what purpose," and the RSL standard allows a publisher to permit some uses while requiring a custom license for others. The readiness review looks at your existing commitments first so the participation scope is defined around them, not in conflict with them. Where an existing agreement contains exclusivity or field-of-use restrictions, we identify that before anything is declared.
Yes. Scope is set at the level of domains, subdomains, sections, or content types, and the RSL standard supports different terms for different content. Paywalled material can be included or excluded; RSL Collective states that its members can license "paywalled articles, books, videos, images, and data." Exclusions are recorded in the participation scope you approve before enrollment.
No. LINC is non-exclusive by design: nothing is licensed without your approval, and joining RSL through LINC does not restrict direct deals, marketplace listings, or any other route. Any terms specific to RSL Collective membership are set out in RSL Collective's own terms, which you review before enrolling.
RSL Collective uses a pay-per-output model, under which AI companies compensate content owners when their work is used to generate an AI output. Reporting and royalties follow standardized rules developed with publishers. To make the process transparent, LINC shares reports for your enrolled sites on an agreed schedule and explains what was used, how royalties were calculated, and what was earned.
Royalty administration is performed by RSL Collective under its published terms. Payment mechanics for publishers in your market, including any role LINC plays in settlement, are confirmed in writing at onboarding rather than assumed here. We will not describe an arrangement on this page until it is agreed.
Enquiring is free, and RSL Collective states that joining the collective itself is free. Before LINC begins any paid work, the LINC service agreement clearly sets out the scope, fees, and compensation structure. All LINC fees are disclosed transparently and agreed in advance.
Control of the domains you want to enroll, someone who can approve scope on the publisher's behalf, and a list of any existing AI licensing agreements. Technical setup for RSL declarations (robots.txt, RSL XML, or headers) is handled during documentation; you do not need to prepare it before the enquiry.
LINC reviews fit first and follows up before requesting rights, catalog, or commercial information.
Non-exclusive. No commitment at enquiry. You decide every next step.
LINC will review fit and come back within two business days with a readiness review proposal. There is no obligation at this stage.
